roberto cavalli sunglasses 2012,
"Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, prada sunglasses 2012 and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."
- Hermann Goering
We could take this all the way back to the ancient Roman Empire and before; instead let us begin at the close of World War II in 1945 at Yalta. After a quick review we will then see what this means today.
Communist Russia was not capable of manufacturing a decent automobile let alone a nuclear weapon. Joe Stalin slaughtered between 50 and 80 million of his people. But Churchill and Roosevelt thought it would be a great idea to grant the Soviet Union half of Germany and much of Europe. We then made sure they had the technology to manufacture atomic and hydrogen weapons. Thus was created what came to be known as the Cold War. The Soviet Union was a manufactured enemy sold to the American people as a well fed, highly industrialized nation. They were even the first to put a satellite in orbit around the globe thus beginning the great space race in the name of America's national defense.
In the 1940s Chinese Communists and nationalists fought to dominate their nation. The United States withdrew support for Chang Kai-shek and sent him and his Kuo Min Tang to what was then known as Formosa, the modern-day Taiwan. Mao Tse Tung subsequently killed between 45 and 70 million of his own people. Yet Henry Kissinger and Dick Nixon thought it would be a good idea to open China to the world so they traveled there in 1972. Thus was created another great enemy who today threatens the world economy and claims that it owns the entire Pacific Rim and will one day dominate it again.
That opened the door to that sickening Korean conflict in 1950. And as you now know, the United States was already jockeying for excuses to load Vietnam with American troops. When Eisenhower found out in the early 1950s that the Vietnamese people wanted to remain unified under Ho Chi Minh he made sure that this would not happen.
In every case listed above the American people designer sunglasses for sale were presented with phony enemies and fed well-placed propaganda to get them to believe that these enemies were real and we needed to defend ourselves against them.
Fast forward to September 11, 2001. It is much debated why that happened and who was responsible for it. Maybe in about 100 years the world will know the truth. In the meantime let us stick to the Osama bin Laden story. The result was that the Bush/Cheney cabal made sure they made best use of this incident. George Bush announced "a new enemy called the Taliban" and we went to Afghanistan to eradicate them and Al Qaeda. We remain in Afghanistan today. In 2002 George W. Bush began beating the drums against Iraq. He claimed, "The sanctions are not working and the danger increases by roberto cavalli sunglasses 2012 the moment." The American people bought it, Congress voted for it almost unanimously, the Bush puppet Tony Blair supported it, and out of it came the Patriot Act in less than 24 hours. The Patriot Act continues to threaten our freedom today.
